Application of Support Vector Machin (SVM), is a new approach to analyze engineering problems which has been considered in recent decades. In this study, the SVM model is applied to predict the seismic response of concrete dam under seismic loading. To provide training data, the finite element analysis software ANSYS is used in concrete gravity dams Shafarood. WinSVM software was used for support vector machin modeling, as well. After completing training process, seismic response resulted from the two methods were compared and verified. The results were validated the ability of support vector machine to determine the seismic behavior of concrete dams. as a matter of fact, the error is less than 7% in terms of loading. However, due to the use of data recorded instrument dams for training of support vector machine, the use of this method for determining the response of concrete dams affected by various loads, in conditions close to reality, is recommended.
