Direct Power Control of Small Hydro Power Plant with Doubly Fed Induction Generator

In this paper an effective control method is proposed to control a small hydro power plant with grid connected Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The suggested control method is based on sliding mode theory and is able to regulate the active and reactive power transferred to grid with high accuracy and fast dynamic response. Also, a new direct control method is recommended to eliminate the dc link voltage ripples. Simulation of the mentioned method is done with Matlab/Simulink software and shown the effectiveness of the proposed method |
