Nowadays, with increasing penetration of water systems in various operations, electro pumps are widely used. In many cases, due to incorrect operations and old technologies, the level of losses in these electro pumps is high. Therefore, they bring extra costs to the environment and society. Hence, in recent studies this problem is considered and different solutions have been proposed. Induction motors in the electro pumps are major energy consumers in water pumping systems. For this reason, energy consumption management of these motors, will reduce the energy consumption of the water pumping networks. Electro pumps energy management and suitable scheduling can provide optimize energy consumption in these systems. In this paper a method to optimize electro pumps response is proposed taking into account different conditions in the water pumping systems. A heuristic algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem. Simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the energy consumption of water pumping systems.
