In this research the object is comparison of estimation suspended sediment load transferred behind storage dams by neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and artificial neural network (ANN). The investigations have been conducted by using MATLAB program. The inputs conclude discharge of Sefidrud River (north of Iran) and the output is sediments concentration in time series. The input and output of river have positive procedure and 80% of data utilized for training and 20% for tests. For training the network, data that recognize issue conditions were selected and some data for testing, In conclusion, from 229 of data, 182 were applied for training phase and 47 for testing. The results show the concentration of sediment suspended load derived artificial neural network and neuro-fuzzy inference system is close together and regression coefficient is 90%, while regression coefficient is 83% for artificial neural network merely. In conclusion, neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) has more workability for prediction of suspended sediment load to artificial neural network (ANN).
